June 4, 2015 – Victoria, BC – In collaboration with SportFishingBC.com, PEETZ Outdoors is pleased to support the 6th annual Tofino Saltwater Classic, a salmon fishing derby off the West Coast of Vancouver Island, Canada, that will be held this year from July 3rd to 5th, 2015.
Hosted by former National Hockey League (NHL) player Brendan Morrison, the Tofino Saltwater Classic has proven to be a successful regional derby over the last five years, with contributions exceeding $185,000 to-date. Funds from this year’s event will be directed to a wide range of Tofino’s community programs, including:
- The Wickaninnish Community School WEPAC Healthy Food and Scholastic Programs
- Wickaninnish Community School Society after-school care program
- Tofino Hospital Foundation
- Tofino Parks and Recreation Commission
- Tofino Salmon Enhancement Society
- West Coast Multiplex Society
- Tofino Legion Youth Night Program

PEETZ Outdoors has donated an “Evolution Package” for the derby, which includes one of its new 5″ PEETZ Evolution Reels, a PEETZ Stryke Zone 7″ flasher (blue with white glow) and two Sitka Sand Lance salmon lures (blue with white glow). All items are handcrafted by artisans in Victoria, BC. “The blue/white tackle selection may have been inspired by a couple of Canuckle Heads here at the PEETZ shop!” As an added bonus, Brendan Morrison will be autographing the flasher for the winner!

1) Register for the derby.
2) Once you have completed your derby registration, send an email with your name, your SFBC forum username and the email address you use for the forum to info@tofinosaltwaterclassic.com and cc info@sportfishingbc.com. If you have already entered the derby and are a member of the forum, simply provide the information required in step two above to enter the draw.
